Custom Pet Portrait art by Doris

I am an artist, wife and mother of two children living in sunny Bradenton, Florida. I graduated in 1998 from Ringling College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Illustration. We have had a cat, four hermit crabs , four guppies , beta fish, rabbit and a hedgehog living with us at different times over the years. We currently only have a Leopard Gecko. I love art and animals and have merged these two interests to create custom pet portraits.

I paint from a photograph that is either sent to me by mail, text or e-mailed to me from the pet owner. I start out painting a background color on the canvas in acrylic. Then I sketch the image in chalk on the canvas and dive right into painting the portrait. My style is graphic representation. The pet owners are always happy with how the painting looks like their pet in my graphic style. The pet owners who had a portrait done of their pet that has passed away are always so thankful to have custom art to remember their beloved pet.

Process & Pricing Acrylic Paintings

I charge $195 for an acrylic painting on a 12-inch square canvas. I will need a good quality photo of the pet that can be e-mailed or sent to me. The photo you provide should be a pose you would like for the painting please. If you would like two animals in one painting we will use a 12” x 16” canvas and there will be an additional charge of $100. The two animals have to be together in the photo that is provided to me. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit to start. After I paint the portrait I will e-mail you or text a proof to see if you would like any changes. The remaining balance will be due to receive your art. If shipping is needed there will be an additional cost to cover that expense. I look forward to working with you and creating a custom pet portrait for you or someone you love.
